The industry standard for analog and mixed-signal simulation

Cadence® Allegro® AMS Simulator is a full-featured analog and mixed-signal simulator supporting everything from high-frequency systems to low-power IC designs. Advanced features enable "what if" analyses, allowing engineers to explore various design configurations before committing to final implementation. The powerful and robust simulation engine of Allegro AMS Simulator integrates easily with Allegro Design Entry CIS for design entry and Allegro Design Entry HDL for schematic capture. It allows engineers to create designs, control simulations, and interpret the results in a single environment.

Allegro AMS Simulator and The MathWorks' MATLAB Simulink package integrates two industry-leading simulation tools in a powerful co-simulation environment (SLPS). Together, they give designers the ability to perform system-level simulations that include realistic electrical models of actual components. Design and integration problems can be discovered much earlier in the design process, reducing the number of prototypes needed to execute the design.

SLPS integration allows designers to interface the Allegro AMS Simulator / PSpice circuit with Simulink and then observe the waveforms after Simulink-Allegro AMS Simulator / PSpice co-simulation

Key benefits

  • Improves simulation times, reliability, and convergence on larger designs with new performance technology
  • Provides flexible design entry options using either Allegro Design Entry CIS or Allegro Design Entry HDL depending on circuit or PCB design needs
  • Prevents board failures by determining which components are over stressed using Smoke analysis or observing component yields using Monte Carlo
  • Identifies and simulates functional blocks of complex circuitry using mathematical expressions and functions
  • New Magnetic Parts Editor helps designs inductors and transformers
  • Allows system-level interfaces to be tested with actual electrical designs with SLPS integration
