What does Analog Behavioural Modelling provide?

Analog Behavioural Modelling provides a means of defining flexible descriptions of components in terms of a transfer function, or lookup table. A mathematical relationship is used to model a component segment, rather than modelling the segment component by component.

 

Typical Op-Amp models make extensive use of ABM components internally within the models and the “input pair” transistors are often the only “real” components used in the model. This is much more efficient for simulation than using transistor models for all of the circuit elements.

 

Connecting Analog Behavioural Modelling Parts

Analog Behavioural Modelling (ABM) Parts can be connected by wiring into a circuit, just like any other Schematic Parts. Since the function of the ABM component has a mathematical formula, it is possible to reference circuit nodes in the formula without requiring a wired connection.

 

Common Types of Analog Behavioural Modelling Parts

The 4 common types of Analog Behavioural Modelling Parts are: E, Voltage controlled Voltage Source; F, Current controlled Voltage source; G, Voltage controlled Current Source; H, Current controlled Current Source.
