1. If necessary, open the Lesson10.opj file.

2. In the Project Manager window, left-click the plus signs (+) to display the contents of the design file, and double-click on PAGE2 to open it.

3. Use zoom to fit to get the page contents in view.

Note

If you have named the pages differently, just make sure you open the page that resembles the following picture.

4. Left-click the 74F162 part to select it, right-click>Edit Properties.

The Edit Properties menu appears.

5. At the top of the Edit Properties window, left-click in the Filter by field.

6. Scroll through the list of filter names, and select the Capture entry.

7. Close the Property Editor.

8. Double-click the 74F162 part to open the Property Editor.

9. At the top of the Edit Properties window, left-click in the Filter by field.

10. Now change the Filter by field from Capture to OrCAD PCB Designer Professional.

The Property Editor now displays only those properties that are relevant for the OrCAD PCB Editor tool.

The Property Editor now displays a list of OrCAD PCB Editor related properties.

11. Set the Filter by field to <Current Properties>.

All properties currently assigned to the part are displayed (regardless of which tool the property is targeting).

Another way to control the contents of the Property Editor window is by object type.

12. Observe the tabs along the bottom edge of the Property Editor window.

13. Left-click the Pins tab or entity filter at the bottom of the window.

All the pin properties for the 74F162 part are displayed.

14. Left-click the Parts tab or entity filter at the bottom of the window.

15. Left-click the Pivot button.

(Or right-click in the empty cell in the top left position of the spreadsheet and select Pivot from the pop-up menu, or double-click in that cell).

Observe that the spreadsheet now lists property names at the left (as shown in the next picture) instead of across the top. If you double-click again in the top left cell, the property names will pivot back across the top of the spreadsheet (the default format).

Note

If you want to print out the Property Editor spreadsheet, do the following:

1. Highlight all the Properties.

2. Go to the main Capture menu and select Edit>Copy.

3. Open a text editor, such as Word or NotePad, and Paste into the editor.
