Lab 13-4: Using the “Edit Browse” Command 17.4

1. In the Project Manager window, left-click the .\lesson10.dsn entry.

 

2. Select Edit>Browse>Parts from the top menu and left-click>OK to list all parts in the design.

 

3. Double-click part J1

The page of the design containing J1 is automatically opened, and the connector is selected.

 

4. Move the mouse to the schematic page and right-click>Edit Properties.

 

5. In the Property Editor, Pivot the property names if they don’t appear in a list on the left.

 

6. Assign a PART_NUMBER and PCB Footprint, as shown in the following graphic.

The actual values specified are NOT critical to the process.

 

7. Close the Property Editor and press Esc to deselect all parts.

Note

Capture combines various property editing techniques into a single unified Property Editor. The Property Editor allows you to edit properties at all levels of the design.

An alternative way to open the Property Editor, is to select the .DSN name or a schematic folder in the Project Manager window and the choose Object Properties from the Edit menu. All object properties in the .DSN file or selected schematic folder display within the Property Editor. Note that the Display (Visibility) cannot be changed from Edit>Object Properties.

 

8. Select File>Save from the top menu to save the schematic page.

 

9. Select File>Close to close the schematic page.

 

10. Select File>Save from the Project Manager to save the design.
