Electronic component intelligence

SiliconExpert

Hard-to-find part data, found in seconds.

SiliconExpert helps engineering, procurement, supply-chain and compliance teams choose, qualify, source and monitor parts. Parametric, lifecycle, compliance and risk data for thousands of components, without hours of searching datasheets and distributor sites.

The problem, solved

Stop hunting. Start designing.

Engineers lose hours chasing datasheets, lifecycle status, compliance certificates and stock levels across dozens of manufacturer and distributor websites.

SiliconExpert brings that intelligence together in one place. We offer two options: API Gold embeds component data into your own systems, including OrCAD CIP, and BOM Risk / BOM Manager analyses whole bills of materials in SiliconExpert's own platform.

Option 1

SiliconExpert API Gold

A developer-facing subscription that lets your PLM, ERP, CAD, sourcing or internal workflow systems retrieve SiliconExpert component data directly. In the Cadence flow this connects into OrCAD CIP. It is aimed at growing businesses and dynamic teams who want component intelligence automated inside existing tools, rather than searching a separate website.

What it returns for each manufacturer part number

Core identification

MPN, manufacturer, description, datasheet, part history, classification codes, CAGE code and product image.

Technical data

Parametric specifications, package shape and size, packaging format, solder details and plating material.

Environmental compliance

REACH, RoHS and conflict-mineral status, plus REACH sources, material declarations, chemical makeup and RoHS statements.

Supply-chain data

Minimum price, average price and average inventory.

Risk data

Years-to-end-of-life, EOL date, counterfeit reports, last-time-buy date, last PCN, GIDEP alerts and multi-sourcing risk.

Alternates

Part crosses and replacement recommendations.

Benefits for your team

  • Avoid late redesigns

See lifecycle, obsolescence, alternate and manufacturing data while a design is still changeable.

  • Reduce obsolescence surprises

YTEOL, EOL date, last-time-buy and PCN data help teams plan buys or qualify replacements before a part disappears.

  • Improve sourcing decisions

Price, inventory and multi-sourcing-risk information helps procurement identify availability and sourcing exposure.

  • Support compliance work

RoHS, REACH, conflict-mineral, material-declaration, chemical and plating data support regulatory screening and audit evidence.

  • Speed up component selection

Parametric, package, packaging, datasheet and image data reduce manual research across manufacturer and distributor sites.

  • Reduce counterfeit and quality exposure

Counterfeit reports, GIDEP alerts and part history provide additional due-diligence signals.

  • Automate workflows

Push data into PLM, ERP, CAD and internal applications, reducing copy-and-paste work and keeping systems consistent.

  • Use quota efficiently

Usage is counted per part, not per field; once requested, a part's full data set can be accessed again during the contract year without consuming more quota.

  • Scale with visibility needs

Gold covers component, compliance, parametric, risk and alternate data; the higher Platinum tier adds GeoRisk and supply-chain events.

Option 2

SiliconExpert BOM Risk / BOM Manager

Upload a bill of materials directly from OrCAD Capture CIS. SiliconExpert matches the line items to its component database, then assesses lifecycle, sourcing, inventory, compliance and obsolescence risk across the whole BOM, identifying problems early and recommending viable alternatives.

What it does

  • Uploads and analyses BOMs for lifecycle, sourcing, inventory and compliance vulnerabilities.
  • Automatically matches BOM lines to the correct manufacturer and part number.
  • Uses machine learning to improve lifecycle forecasting and provide end-of-life estimates.
  • Flags risky parts and recommends stronger alternatives.
  • Provides a customisable BOM dashboard to prioritise the insights most relevant to your products.
  • Sends email alerts for product change notifications and changes affecting availability, specifications or lifecycle status.

Benefits for your team

  • Whole-BOM visibility

Assess an entire product's component list for risk in one workflow instead of checking parts one at a time.

  • Earlier risk detection

Surface lifecycle, sourcing, inventory and compliance issues before they become production delays.

  • Better part matching

Automated matching reduces errors caused by incomplete, inconsistent or duplicated part numbers.

  • Actionable replacement options

Risk flags are paired with alternate and cross-reference recommendations for shortages or obsolescence.

  • Improved lifecycle planning

AI-supported YTEOL and EOL estimates support design-in decisions, last-time-buy planning and refresh scheduling.

  • Compliance screening

Basic REACH, RoHS and trade-classification data, with premium environmental content available in suggested packages.

  • Proactive change management

PCN alerts notify you when manufacturer changes may affect a part in your BOM.

  • Team-level workflow control

Professional includes one shareable licence for multiple BOMs.

Best suited to design reviews, new-product introduction, production readiness and ongoing supply-risk monitoring.

It answers: “Which parts in this BOM are obsolete, single-sourced, low-stock, non-compliant, or likely to change?”

Practical approach

Using both together

  1. 01

    Design and NPI

Use BOM Risk to identify high-risk components, compliance gaps, inventory weaknesses and candidate alternates.

  2. 02

    Release

Use API Gold to push approved component data, risk attributes, lifecycle status and compliance details into PLM, ERP, CAD libraries or procurement systems.

  3. 03

    Monitor

Keep using BOM Risk alerts to track PCNs, availability changes, lifecycle movement and compliance changes after release.

In short: BOM Risk tells you which parts in a product are risky and what to do about them; API Gold makes that intelligence available automatically wherever your teams already work.
