Library Symbols “carry information”, or “link signals”, through the schematic but won’t form any part of the output data, apart from on printed pages.

Types of Symbol are: global Power; Off-Page Connectors; Hierarchical Ports; and Title-Blocks

Title Blocks “carry” the information about the design like organisation details and page numbers.

The other symbols link signals to global Power, between Pages, or through the hierarchy. There is an app note that discusses these symbols and typical connectivity. Please refer to:- Using Power Nets in OrCAD Capture (parallel-systems.co.uk)

There is a library, capsym, provided in the installation for common types and many users just use this library for Symbols. Some users may want to copy from the capysym library to form their own symbol library, for commonly used voltage supplies, as an example. Do not remove the capsym library file from the installation, even if you are not using any of the symbols within it.
